ANAM SUROTO – A Golden Talent Award Winner of 2006

Bayung Lencir village is a small and remote village in South Sumatera. Their daily activity are collecting rattan and felling trees, but all those activity still could not fulfill their economic need. They sell the rattan and tress’ log far below market price. Living in the river side in their raft houses also have given them consequences such as lack of education, had no social interaction, bad sanitation and hygiene.read more

Ahmad Salim

At first, we will ‘see’ him as a person whom not having a self-confident by having himself surrounded by other people and being in a new place.
His name is Ahmad Salim (20), he is from Pahawang Island, a small island in South Sumatra, one of four people sent by project partner Mitra Bentala to join the Training of Trainers held in Lampung, 2-6 December 2008 ago. read more

Mrs. Siti Khadijah (53)- a mother to her 7 children- is popular herbalist before she become a CAHVI (Community Animal Health Voluntary Services in Indonesia ) member from Galang Suka sub district, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra . New Beginning in Pertumbukan Village

Pertumbukan Village is an isolated village which full of struggle stories of the villagers. Since 1960s, the villagers of this village which 10km far from Stabat-the capital of Langkat District- are far from the word prosper since their indigenous land had been taken by the state plantation. read more

Farmers Innovations

Farmers are often seen as needy community that always being thrown back and forward by conditions and we might be ‘hidden’ from all we have been seeing all these times.

The project is named Strengthen Family and Organization for Holistic Sustainability (22-0806-0412) and located in the eastern part of Lampung Province, in Kibang village, Metro Kibang Sub-District, East Lampung District. Kibang Village is one of the poor villages found in this district.read more

A Farmers Group at Dogang Village

Dogang Village is a poor village of the north east part of Langkat Region (the poorest region in North Sumatra). Dogang village has the population of 2,877 people and 640 families from various ethnics groups and religions. Around 75% of the populations are defined as poor families, with a monthly income of Rp.400,000-700,000 for sustaining 4 family members per family. Like other rural communities in Indonesia, Dogang villagers are mostly farmers and agriculture labor. read more
